Jamestown Resident since: 1997                                                                   Hometown: Brooklyn, NY

Why I do what I do: When I became a full-time Realtor, I brought a lot of experience to the job in new construction, renovations, property management, and appraisals.  I had worked for years with my husband, a contractor, in his business and managing our own investment properties. My work as an appraiser was with local and national banks; I maintain my certified residential appraisal license. I still love helping people find just the right property and sharing my experience to help them understand what’s possible and make informed decisions that will bring them the best value

A little bit about me: My husband, Ken and I have two grown sons, Zack and Matt. I’m a city girl who has fallen in love with island life and now serve on the Jamestown Conservation Commission, working to preserve and protect the natural resources so central to our quality of life here.

Things I do when I’m not doing real estate: I enjoy sharing Jamestown with family and friends and taking part in our community events. I love to cook many of my grandma’s Italian favorites for company, but everyone seems to love my homemade brined corned beef the best. Spending time exploring all parts of our biggest little state is also one my favorite things to do.

Notable accomplishment in my real estate career: Several years ago I worked with a young woman that was a very anxious first time home buyer. After she purchased her home she wrote me a recommendation saying “As a first time buyer I had lot of questions. Joyce answered them all, while anticipating those I didn’t know to ask! I’d work with her again & recommend her to others. Each transfer of property has its own challenges and I always believe my next notable accomplishment is just around the corner.
