About Jamestown

About Jamestown

Jamestown is quite simply, a wonderful place.  It's beautiful, friendly, easy to get to, and fun to live and work in.  It's a unique island community located across Narragansett Bay from Newport. We're connected to the mainland by two bridges, so getting here is never a problem. We're about 30 minutes south of Providence, one hour south of Boston, and three hours north of New York.  Transportation services such as TF Green international Airport and Amtrak's Kingston station are less than a half hour's drive.  Amtrak's new Acela Express Service will get you from Washington DC to Providence in six hours... Jamestown offers the convenience of a suburban setting, while retaining the charm and character of a New England coastal community.

Jamestown has approximately 6,000 residents, and a larger population in the summer months.  The entire island is approximately 9 miles long by about a mile wide.  We have terrific access to all kinds of recreational activities, a good school system, low property taxes, and a community that dedicates its time and and impressive talent in all sorts of ways- including community theater and the town band.

If you are new to Jamestown, give us a call and we'd be happy to meet with you and show you around.
